Artistic Living Showcase Home Tour, September 12-14, 2008.
The theme of this year’s showcase is Artistic Living: Past to Present, and will feature five of Park Ridge’s finest homes, ranging in age from one year to one century. One of the homes will feature a tea room, an elevator, and a wall covered in jade. Another boasts an all new interior surrounded by a restored, century old exterior. A nearly ninety-year-old Queen Anne is so well decorated, you’ll feel as though you were on a European getaway. There is also a historic 1929 Spanish “residencia,” and a twenty-eight room estate, which will be the location for our opening night gala.
The 28-room Rose Street has been exclusively furnished by Amphora and Amphora Loft of Park Ridge. All Amphora furnishings and accessories are for sale throughout the weekend. For more info on Amphora go to www.amphorahome.com.
In addition to the grand opening celebration, An Evening of Wine and Roses, on Friday, September 12, (limited to those over 21), Brickton is planning other events surrounding the home tour and complementing this year’s theme. Brickton has invited experts to conduct lectures focused on Park Ridge’s architectural history, a self-guided historic tour of Park Ridge is also planned for the weekend and all visitors will be able to participate in a silent auction located at the Rose Street home.
The proceeds from Artistic Living: Past to Present will directly assist Brickton Art Center in securing a strong future and expanding its community services, including art outreach programs for underserved populations.
Brickton (a non-profit charitable organization) is the only visual arts center serving the Northwest Chicagoland area, and the community’s resource for visual art education, appreciation, and expression.
